Amazon.com Review
This electric sharpener is so simple to use that knives practically sharpen themselves. It puts a professional-style edge on any kitchen or sporting knife (except serrated knives). Because magnetic guides hold a blade at the proper angles, no guesswork is involved. You simply grip your knife loosely and pull it lightly through the sharpener's slots without pressing down. Key to this knife sharpener's performance is the two different stages: the sharpening stage and the second honing stage, which polishes the blade to a razor edge. Those two stages create different bevels, putting a "shoulder" on an edge instead of sharpening with a single bevel. The shoulder strengthens the edge so it lasts longer. For each stage there is a pair of slots, and the slots use 100 percent diamond abrasives for hardness. The sharpener measures 7 inches long, 4-1/4 inches high, and 3-3/4 inches deep and carries a two-year warranty against defects. --Fred Brack

Sharpener is an excellent value! (2009-04-24)
Product is extremely easy to use and operated just as indicated in the online advertisement. Used it on variety of knives (this model is not usable on serrated knives) with lengths from two to twelve inches. All were sharpened effortlessly with excellent results. The ordering process was easy and unambiguous. The sharpener was delivered in less than three days.

Not my best purchase ever (2009-03-04)
I bought one of these a couple of years ago and I haven't been able to get my knives properly sharp from using it, no matter how long I have spent carefully following the instructions. My partner couldn't believe it wouldn't work and, thinking I might be too easily put off, tried it too, using as many alternative artful variations in technique as he could think of. It didn't work for him either. I ended up throwing it out.

Now I use a simple sharpening stone, which is far more effective and environmentally friendly. Better for your arm muscles too.

Chef's Choice 300 Diamond Hone Knife Sharpener, White (2009-02-22)
Slow and a little hard to use. Does a decent job IF you do what they tell you to do then you get a decently sharpened knife. Use it on protected surface since slivers of the metal shed as it is sharpened.

Very good once I learned good technique. (2009-01-14)
I have had this sharpener for about two weeks. Originally I was disappointed, but after I learned how to use it by following the directions and being patient, I am totally happy. High quality carbon steel knives sharpen more quickly than cheaper, harder, stainless ones. But with time and patience, a good edge is achieved on all materials. Very important though is to finish each knife with a couple of strokes on a sharpening steel. The result is an edge like a razor, dangerously sharp.

Dull em up (2008-10-06)
Should of listen to some of the other reviews, but not me I am to smart. What a pain in the back side. To start you have to make 20 passes of each side of the knife in slot one, then you have to make another 10 passes of each side of the knife in slot two. And you much make them very slow. (Per the owner's manual) It took me hour's to do this and my knife's came out duller then when I stated. What a waste of time. I am glad I bought it from Amazon because they took it back with no question's asked. Don't waste your time and money.
